Reclaiming My Digital Images in Google

Building  a successful website these days  is a very difficult task, this is not 1995 anymore and promoting your products against the 5 billion or so other web-pages out there is a time consuming and often painful effort.

When I first started my website, I wanted very badly to promote my items, and one of the best ways to do this is to submit your products to auction websites such as EBay.

The nice thing about an established website such as EBay is search engines like Google already know who they are and love them. Anything posted on EBay will end up quite quickly on the first page of search engine results. I love  EBay, I have nothing bad to say, just a warning about what I found out recently with letting other websites show your images, and Google Indexing.

EBay allows a seller of a product one free picture with their posting, and unlimited self hosted images. So I like many others used my free image and then used a bunch of my own images I loading strait from my website.

The problem is that my images had not yet been indexed by Google, but once put on E-Bay, they are indexed very quickly. Google for some reason then identifies those images as belonging to E-Bay, not to your website. This means when a user does an Image search on Google for your item, and they click on your Image, they are brought to EBay’s site instead of being brought to yours.

What I would suggest, for start ups to combat this problem is to make a separate folder for images to be used online by other companies, Google can then index both your website image and the one that they feel belongs to EBay.

After taking my images off all the auction websites recently, Google now identifies that those images belong to me. I recently went from one page of image search results  on Google to approximately ten pages.

The customer traffic has increased by more than triple from image searches since I reclaimed all the images as my own.

The World is Actually Older Than the Internet

One of the things that I find the most annoying on the Internet today, is disinformation, and those that still believe anything they read, which usually just helps spread the confusion.

We are currently selling a shirt on our main website https://supershirtguy.com/ that Europeans have been wearing, for at least 14 years. I am actually selling the ones made by the original manufacturer.

So here I am putting this particular shirt on the Internet, and I find Three people all claiming they are the artist that has drawn it, and are all selling them on American websites, as the original.

Now I have to say here that I was recently spoken about on one of these Massive huge shirt company websites,  I don’t know if any of them are part of the company or not, and to be honest most of them didn’t like my selection of shirts, but that is fine, they are only made for cool people to wear anyhow.

Some though accused us of plagiarizing the art used on the shirt.

So to them I would like to say this.

First of all we only buy and resell the shirts we have nothing to do with the design right now.

Second of all your websites claim on the design is less than 5 years old, and this company I believe has been around for over 2 decades, and had this particular design over a decade already.

Third I am actually pretty sure They are the largest t-shirt store in the world, yours might be the biggest in America, but who knows you may even buy from these people for all I know.

Forth of all, The world is older than the Internet. Believe it or not being the first to stake claim to a picture you place on the Internet does not actually mean it didn’t exist before.

Corporate Hush Hush

I have been spending quite a bit of time on social bookmarking websites recently.

One of the sites I was using rhymes with Bigg, I wont post the actual name here because I do not wish for me to Ban my website from theirs.

Bigg is a websites where you submit links and other with similar interests are able to view them.

I was doing fairly well driving traffic to my main website and found it quite interesting to read all the important news stories as they broke.

I found I drove the most comments to my website by submitting comments about the articles. Whether people agreed or not, they did tend to click to view my profile, and then this website.

I found when I was on there quite a lot of corporate dis-information, and people were eating it up.

There were also quite a few shabby stories with very little facts but people tended to feel this justified their own opinions about things and voted them up.

I ended up becoming quite outspoken about the environment and got a lot of people that would pay attention to my posts. After a while for some reason even though I was only having five or so people that had read my comment so far, I was being voted down 15 to 20 times in a matter of minutes.

With the system of one vote per user per day, this is impossible.

These were negative votes that were being put on me by the bookmarking site.

My comments were pretty well researched, and I have been to places that are currently being destroyed by large corporations and had quite a bit to say. So even though I was being voted down. The people that followed me were voting me back up.

A lot of the companies that we were fighting against are actually advertisers on the website, and I guess Bigg being a commercial site, they felt I was going against their interests, and banned me, also deleting all my posts and comments for the entire site. Even though I often had the top Comment on some very popular articles.

It is sad that a large group of us was trying to point out the damage being done by large corporations to places like Sumatra, with the clear cutting and burring, this of course kills a lot of animals and causes large health problems for the millions of humans that live there. There are also cases of actual murder.

Anyhow I wont talk about it too much, I don’t live that far away from where this corporation has its headquarters and they are extremely well funded.

However I find it very sad about this corporate hush hush. These people are literally getting away with murder, and turning rain forests into deserts, not to mention the implications towards global warming, if carbon actually causes global warming. I am sure if Bigg dropped their advertising someone else would pick up the slack eventually. I guess they feel no responsibility to the world even though they are getting large enough to help shape it.

I hope one day I will be in a position to help the world like they are, I would use my power for the good of all, instead of just the good of my already enormous bank account.

Chicken And Cow Egg T-Shirt

This is a recent shirt I was able to pick up from a local designer. It is only about six months old for us at this point, and already is becoming a fairly hot seller for our website.

I think It is funny, so I thought I would share it with you.

The shirt itself has no name that I am aware of but I call it the Chicken and Cow Egg T-Shirt

Have a look.

For most of the last two years I have notice my beautiful cow Mabel, and favorite chicken Betsy had been spending a lot of time together.

Although I thought it was a bit strange, I was thankful it was not the weirdo creep Gonzo that used to hang on the chicken coup doors trying to chat up the ladies.

Last week I went out for a walk around the farm, and this is the site I ran into.

This whole thing is very confusing to me, I don’t see how a cow and chicken could make such an egg, and really I think poor Betsy and Mabel are even more confused than I am.

I wonder if I feed the creature that hatches from it chocolate, will it lay milk chocolate eggs?

We have now moved here from Blogger.

Hi all,

Sorry I didn’t get to post yesterday. I was very busy installing this WordPress Blog on the main Website, and migrating my posts over from Blogger.

I would just like to say to anyone that doesn’t work with any sort of computer languages much, it can be a very frustrating experience, it can be very painful to get things just right, and you will pull your hair out, shout out loud, and learn to curse more than you should. However in the end it is nice to see that you could follow through with something so difficult.

It is similar to climbing a mountain I guess, it is sure painful getting there, but once your there you are proud you have done it.

Anyhow, the proof is in the pudding, the Blog is up and running, and although it still needs an awful lot of tweaking, it works !
